Cavoodles are quite easy to toilet train. They are very smart and eager to please their new owners.  New owners do need to be aware of the signs that your new Cavoodle puppy will give you when he or she needs to relieve themselves. Usually they will start smelling the ground, go around in circles a few times or stand at the door. It is up to you to immediately (not when you have finished on the phone)  take your Cavoodle puppy outside to go to the toilet and give your puppy plenty of praise when they have finished. This encourages your puppy to go to the toilet outside. For night time toilet training or when you are not at home,  it is ideal to be able to train them to use a potty tray for inside. This method consists of a fairly shallow tray with imitation grass on top. Any urine goes through the grass matting into the tray and is kept quite dry for the puppy to use again. The tray does need cleaning at least twice daily. Most Pets Shops and Innovations.com.au stock these.  Puppy Pads can be used but supervised as they have a plastic lining on the back and puppies can chew this and may swallow some of the plastic pieces which may then cause internal complications. Please remember your Cavoodle puppy will generally want to go to the toilet within 5 minutes of waking up, after playtime and after a meal.
